3 months and two days....

As you can see by my blog title: It has been three months and two days since I've posted in here!  Which is crazy, because I am usually an avid blogger!  Well, lets get caught up in the world of me!

*Huron* Steel Magnolia's was a GREAT success!  I had a blast doing it w/those girls.  We really were 6 crazy women from Louisiana!  I got a bit part in Damn Yankee's-Ms. Weston!  LOL, it was fun to act ridiculous with Adam and Allison on stage during our scene.  And with Brian having his fly down every night!  Besides the shows, the long hours and the amazing new friends I made two life-changing things happened to me this summer.  One was that my mom passed away.  It was the worst thing I have ever experienced and I still am baffled every day that she is no longer here, but I am dealing with it as best as I can.  The other thing that happened this summer was meeting Matt.  He is simply wonderful.  I'm sure I could go on and on about him, but I will say only this: That I am 100% myself with him, and he makes me feel happier than I ever knew I could be.   He goes to school in Michigan, so the long distance thing is rough (3.5 hours) But we make it work!

*Cap* Well Orientation this year was the best year for me personally!  I had the most incredible partner in the world!  Chris Stembridge, a senior baseball player with a heart of gold!  Not to mention an incredible body and smile, which helped immensely with our retention rates in the group!  I even tried to get him to wear tight clothes, but that didn't go over so well! I have never formed a close friendship with someone that fast, it's crazy!  But now I can't see my senior year w/o him!  He was even kind enough to be my Escort for the Homecoming Court.  By the way, I didn't win-but I don't care!  It was amazing enough to be recognized as one of the top 5 female student leaders on this campus!  Also on Homecoming Sat. was Kat's wedding....in which I was a bridesmaid!  That was the busiest day of my life, and I haven't driven that fast or much in a LONG time!  I made it in plenty of time to throw on my dress, touch up the make up and walk down the aisle!  It was a pretty ceremony, a little surreal that my friend from kindergarten is MARRIED, but fun all the same!  It was also good to see my K-town friends, because I don't see them a lot while I'm at school.  Speaking of school, I have MAJOR senioritis!!  Like, REALLY bad!  I don't want to do homework or go to classes anymore.  If I could just do shows, be in organizations and spend time with Matt, this year would be great!  But alas, I need to graduate so those classes are mandatory!  The musical is coming along, it's weird for me since I am playing a lead-I am in ZERO of the chorus numbers, so I feel kind of "left out."  I'm having a blast with the show, it's just odd that I'm not up there pretending to talk while the lead sings!  The set is beautiful and the show is going to be good, so that makes me happy!

I think that about sums up very simply what's been going on in my life the past three months and two days!!  I'm going to try to get back into the swing of writing in this thing, it helps me collect my thoughts!  Busy week this week~two homework assignments, lots of reading, a presentation, but then Matt comes to visit this Friday, which =me VERY excited!!  Ciao!

Quick Update!

Just thought I'd give a quick update.  I've been at Huron for a little over two weeks and it feels like a year.  This place is its own little bubble world, but I LOVE it!  I love the people and the atmosphere...the 14 hour days get a little rough, but I'm surviving.  I also got a part in Steel Magnolia's I will be playing Truvy, (for those who have seen the film that is the Dolly Parton character)  I'm REALLY excited about it, but CRAZY nervous too.  We open in 10 days and have only had like 5 or 6 rehearsals.  I don't think I've ever had this many lines either!  It's July 11-15th, so if you're in the Sandusky/Huron/Cedar Point area you should check it out.  I have made some really amazing friend while I'm up here and things are going so great that I don't want to jinx it!  So call me sometime, I miss you all!

Highlights and stuff of my junior year...

Well the time has come for the highlights of junior year xanga entry...so here goes!

Orientation: Was not my favorite expereince, had a great partner~Beth~but the mix of people just wansn't right.  But my amazing group more than made up for it!

Homecoming: Got to announce Homecoming King and Queen after HOURS of counting votes with Dave in the office!  Yay for Kalo and Hannah!  The dance was a blast too, especially with the chocolate fountain!

Lucky Stiff: Oh my oh my...we'll leave this one for your own interpretations.

NACA: Long and tiring days, getting to watch a TON of musical and comedy acts, got free stuff, and also Douglas and I got left in an abandoned parking lot with McDonalds at midnight!

Shylock's Daughter: Probably one of the best experiences I've had~great show, great director, AMAZING cast!  The material got rough sometimes, but with those great people there was no room for anything but fun!!  We even made a cast mascot...Ezekiel the duck!  Especially going to Applebee's and catching a mid-night showing of Harry Potter 4!

Phi Beta (fall '05) Gained one new member~LUCAS!  Greek Week paired with Zeta.  We had a good time and deserved to win some of those events, but oh well!  The changes in the group becoming more and more clear

Christmas break: Home, working again at the Bee's, hanging out with friends and relaxing!

OTA's: Felt great about my audition, didn't get any inital call-backs.  Walked around the call-back area and earned FOUR call-backs.  Got an offer to work at Techumphsa (spelling?), and turned it down so I could wait to hear from Huron!

Pray For the Soul of Betty: Went to this concert with miss Mandy!!  It was pretty amazing if I do say so myself!  Mandy liked one of the opening bands-Big Rock City-better, but oh well.....OH and I got to meet Constantine Maroulis...and I sang to him, and we took the CUTEST picture ever!

CHICAGO: Travled to Chicago for a national open casting call for Hairspray! Thge movie/musical with my momma!  I made it through all the rounds the first day, but no call-back!  It was a blast though!  My momma and I went to the Hard Rock Cafe, Sears Tower, and stood outside in the freezing cold for Wicked tickets...and GOT them!  4th row center baby!  Besides getting the phone call that my brother had a ceizure and his brain was bleeding, it was a great trip! (no worries, Kevin is fine now!)

Theatre: I didn't audition for Sordid Lives, I didn't get cast in Tartuffe, so I auditioned for Petit Jean and got cast for that trip!  Petit Jean was fun overall, it was an experience to say nothing else about it, but I am glad that I went!  We decided the season for next year.....Dan's Show, A Man Of No Importance, Jake's Women, AND Peter Pan!!!  That is an exciting season to look forward to!

SpringFest: After SOOOOOO many let-downs, and backouts and lord knows what else, we made it happen!  It was a great event, with THE MOST people in attendance-community members included!  I am SO proud of Douglas and the committee, and proud to be a part of the BEST UP EVENT OF THE YEAR!

Phi Beta: We gained 5 new member whom I am very excited about.  They remind me SOOO much of my pledge class its not even funny!  I got screwed over in officer elections, and will hold NO office in my organization next year.  The group dynamic is so different and I don't think I like where it might be heading, but I will NOT give up on this group and what it was when I joined.  OH, and we should have won Greek Sing.

Organizations:  These are the offices I hold in organizations next year: University Programming Volunteer Coordinator, Up Till Dawn Morale Chair, Greek Council Vice President of External Communications, Order of Omega Vice President, Alpha Psi Omega Vice President, Orientation Leader, Member of Phi Beta, Member of Sigma Tau Delta, Member of Delta Alpha Nu, and probably something I am forgetting.

Other excitements of Spring 2006: I got hired as an Actor and Office Assistant for The Huron Playhouse this summer!!!  It is going to be AMAZING!  Like Bill say's: Capital is taking over Huron!  With Jordan, Aaron, Kandis, AND Will Hutcheson, it will be a summer that can't be beat!  I am also getting the chance to travel to Europe again, but this time I get to go to London, Paris, Rome, Florence and and island cruise aroudn Capri!  I get class credit for it, get to see shows, and get to lounge around with some pretty amazing people!  My final excitment is that I was named one of the 5 women on Capital's 2006-2007 Homecoming Court!!!  How exciting is that?!

Well this is all that I can think of, it you are reading this and realize I have forgotten some big moment of 2005-2006, please let me know!  I'm sure I've overlooked something!  OK, I'm off to have a great day today and hopefully pass my ASL exam!  Here's a quick look at my summer:

May 20th-June 1st~In EUROPE!!!

So lots has happened since my last post.  Things have gotten better.  Phi Beta formal was fantastic~kudos to my amazing date Shane, and the rest of the cool kids in our car!!   Petit Jean came and went, and I must say I was happy I got to go.  I was proud of our performance, and really enjoyed working on the small group performance.  Some people got a little rude, but I tried to put it out of my mind.  It was gorgeous weather and the other performances were interesting.  In other news, I am going to be Vice President of External Communications for Greek Council, Morale Chair for Up Till Dawn, and a position yet to be named on UP.  I even got a nomination for Homecoming Court....now the best news of all~I GET TO WORK AT HURON PLAYHOUSE THIS SUMMER WITH KANDIS!!!!!!!  I got the call today from Dr. Jann Glann offering me a slot in their company!!  WOO-HOO.  I am so very thankful and blessed right now.  Europe w/Wags for two weeks then Huron for the summer, what more could a girl ask for?  Well I need to go help with strike for Tartuffe, ps~great job cast, it was light-hearted and funny!  Three more days of classes, then home for a small break for the holiday and get my wisdom teeth out and it's Nikki's 21st b-day!!  Ciao dawlings!
